Our Family Business

Founded over 35 years ago by David Manlove, Indian Rock Landscapes is comprised of a team of individuals with many skills.

David began as an apprentice with several different landscape and construction design/build firms, and quickly realized that building gardens was the best of all worlds; the convergence of designing, building, plants and people. He knew then that he wanted to have his own business in the landscape industry. David continues to expand his knowledge through courses in landscape architecture, horticulture, and irrigation conservation.

In 2014, David’s son, Ben, joined the creative IRL design team. He enjoys building landscapes on his computer before perfecting them in the real world.

With a collective experience of over 40 years, the installation crew has a wide range of skills. Whether working with plants, wood, stone, or steel, they competently shape these mediums into beautiful spaces, while at the same time respecting you and your neighbor’s property.

In addition to a talented crew, IRL also has the ability to build custom features in their shop such as gates, handrails, and garden lights.

David and his team at Indian Rock have done three projects for me, ranging in size from small to very large. The work has included building several hundred feet of dry stack walls, other retaining walls, hundreds of feet of redwood fencing, complicated gates, and flagstone and other paths, as well as some planting, replacement of soil, irrigation, and placement of aesthetic boulders and small rocks.
